<abstract>
 Abstract —This paper p r esents the experimental r esults on the generation of subgigawatt radio f r equency (RF) pulses using t w o types of nonlinear transmission lines (N L TLs). In the high- v oltage coaxial lines, we used the f oll o wing: 1) a periodic gas gap structu r e and 2) uni f ormly loaded saturated ferrite with axial bias. The concept of the first line is based on the in-phase composition of RF fields p r oduced by cur r ents in the periodic gas gap structu r e of the inner conducto r . The most stable and efficient nar r o w-band operation of the system with 12 cylindrical gas gaps (200 k V ,

 18 ns) was r ealized at an RF of 1 GHz and an RF p o wer of s e v eral hund r eds of megawatts. The maximum p o wer co n v ersion r eached 10%. The second N L TL lacks spatial dispersion. The self- consistent dynamics of the tr a v eling w a v e is obse rv ed by cohe r ent magnetic switching in ferrites with axial bias. The pulsed v oltage dr iv er p r oduced 9-ns pulses of v oltage between 110 and 290 k V . W ith the optimum exte r nal magnetic field, the efficiency of ene r gy
